InVision Tampa Wants Your Vision

Mayor Bob Buckhorn's outreach program into the forum of public ideas is looking for citizen videos.

InVision Tampa's latest strategy to promote citizen involvement in the planning of Tampa's future involves putting 100% of the creativity in the hands of the residents.

By hosting "What's Your Vision?", a video contest designed to get feedback on how Tampa’s neighborhoods could improve, Mayor Bob Buckhorn's taskforce can get clearly illustrated ideas about what the public wants to improve most about its neighborhoods and city as a whole.

"We need your thoughts, ideas, experiences and voice," Mayor Bob Buckhorn said in a video message on the InVision Tampa website. "We're seeing great excitement in our neighborhoods from downtown to Seminole Heights. We're working to create a city center that catalizes prosperity and a high quality of life for all of Tampa."

InVision Tampa focuses on a two-mile radius from downtown to Ybor City on the east, Armenia Avenue on the west, and north along Nebraska Avenue to Hillsborough Avenue.

Previous events such as the recent Knowledge Exchange programs held at the Tampa Convention Center focused on specific issues, but the video campaign's primary goal is to get a sense of what Tampa residents feel is the most significant improvements that could be made to their neighborhood.

"We must be thoughtful, collaborative and inclusive," Buckhorn said. "We must do this right."
