Update: Courtney Campbell, North Howard Frankland Lanes Closed Due to Debby
High surf and swells are causing problems for motorists in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.
Update, 8:39 a.m. Tuesday:
The Howard Frankland Bridge and Courtney Campbell Causeway were open to traffic Tuesday morning, the FHP said.
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge remained closed.
Update, 8:41 p.m.:
The Florida Highway Patrol has closed the Courtney Campbell Causeway in both directions and the northbound lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge.
The southbound lanes of the Howard Frankland/Interstate 275 have been reopened, according to FHP spokesperson Sgt. Steve Gaskins, but there is water on much of the northbound lanes.
The Gandy Bridge remains open.
"There is no definite timeline for re-opening roadways," Gaskins said in a media release. "As weather and roadway conditions improve, roadways will re-open."
