Drop-Off Your Expired Medications This Saturday in Tampa
Folks will be able to drop-off any prescription medications they no longer use and remain anonymous, with no questions asked, this Saturday, April 28, in Tampa.
From Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office:
On Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Temple Terrace Police Department and the Tampa Police Department will collect unused or expired prescription medications from citizens to prevent potentially dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands and help keep the environment clean.
The Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance supports this initiative as part of its ongoing "Operation Medicine Cabinet" take back program, and will provide volunteers and free educational materials at the collection sites.
Citizens will be able to drop off any prescription medications they no longer use and can remain anonymous, with no questions asked. The drugs will be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
The closest collection site to South Tampa will be at Sweetbay Supermarket, 2525 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. This site is sponsored by Tampa Police Department.
