Update: Gasparilla Food Truck Rally (Not) Canceled

EventFest confirmed that the Gasparilla Food Truck Rally will take place in downtown Saturday, Jan. 28.

Updated at 11 a.m.:

EventFest confirmed that in a parking lot across the street from on Ashley Drive between Cass and Polk streets from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.

An earlier report stated that Tasting Tampa Food Truck Rally organizer Todd Sturtz said that Tasting Tampa was not able to put on a "GaspaRally" due to circumstances beyond its control.

Local news media reported this week that the popular food affair was scheduled to take place across the street from on Ashley Drive between Cass and Polk streets all day Saturday, Jan. 28.

Tasting Tampa Food Truck Rally organizer Todd Sturtz said Tasting Tampa was not able to put on a "GaspaRally" due to circumstances beyond its control.

“Look for something special in 2013,” Sturtz told Patch.

But what about this year’s Gasparilla Pirate Fest?

“There will be a few food trucks scattered about, such as Wicked' Wiches in downtown at Ashley and Madison, and Stinky Bunz on S. Howard at Rainbow Food Mart,” said Sturtz. “I know catching beads can work up an appetite!"

Sturtz confirmed the Tampa Food Truck Rally in conjunction with Ybor City Saturday Market on Feb. 4. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Park, E. 1888 8th Ave.
