Florida Still Counting Election Votes

Florida once again has a race on its hands that is too close to call.

Even though Florida's 29 electoral votes won't make a difference in the outcome of the Presidential election, Florida once again has a race on its hands that is too close to call.

President Barack Obama held a razor-thin thin edge over Gov. Mitt Romney, even as 200,000 votes were left to be counted in Florida. Obama won enough battleground states to win re-election even if he doesn't win Florida.

All precincts have reported results, but provisional and absentee ballots still needed to be counted. That includes 9,000 ballots that were still being counted Wednesday in Pinellas County.

It isn't yet clear when a winner in Florida's Presidential race may be declared. Obama held a 0.58% lead on Wednesday afternoon. If the margin falls below 0.50%, that would trigger an automatic recount.

Read more about the recount scenario.

The race wasn't "fixed"--Florida just can't get its act together when it comes to elections. If anything was "fixed" it was when the Supreme Court declared Bush the winner. "It's not over until your brother [Jeb Bush] counts the votes." Morever, even if Florida's electoral botes were to go to Romney, it doesn't matter--Obama is still the winner. And how do you know that "illegals" had no trouble voting?

It should have been easy enough to go into the board of elections and check to make sure you were registered, don't you think?

It is unacceptable that you were not permitted to vote, but don't go off on a silly rant about illegals. How many illegals voted?

Illegals voted? I'm sure you have proof. I assume you placed a provisional ballot and went back with your documentation to confirm?
Sounds like you're right on one thing. You may have lost your mind.

Regardless of your political affiliation - REGARDLESS - the state in which we live had NO say in who was elected to run our country this time around because no on here has a clue how to count, you know 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. etc. etc.. That is just so wrong on so many levels. It is the 21st century, can our state not figure out how to manage elections effectively? After all this process is only, well over a century plus old - guess there are still some kinks in the system - HA!!! Really, something must be done to fix this problem. This is not a democratic party or a republican problem problem - it is Florida State Problem that has to be solved before our next election. So maddening, frustrating and frightening!

Florida needs to get its act together before it can "have a say" in who is elected. The other 49 states were enough to get Obama enough electoral votes on election day, and the rest of the country has moved on, though I've heard people on national television laughing at Florida's ineptness when it comes to counting votes.

The only lines an trouble I seen was at the highly democratic areas, west palm an broward was 3-4 hour waiting an some in Orlando! A you tube video showed everytime the voter cast a vote for Obama the machine credited Romney! But at least the rest of the United States was able to get it right!

People even in other states are posting on FB reporting the same strange story. One guy took the name register, flipped the page and showed the person his name, after he and his wife were told they were not on the list. They got kicked out of the polling place without being able to vote. This election has been volatile to say the least, but there were a lot of reported incidences that should be investigated.

Florida is so drama ridden it cant seem to help itself for needing to be in the spot light for anything they can grab light to be seen in. Patricia its not a Hoax President Obama --- not Obama did win. I hear your upset and my guess is way back in all of our families we came from somewhere else... in my wonderful and very long life I have never met anyone or actually originated here. those minorities that voted were not illegals.. please get use to America becoming what it is great and welcoming of all. AS to not being allowed to vote where was your voters registration card? mine is right here on my desk and i know our vote must be counted because we all count... Just because your guy didnt win doesnt mean it was fixed it just meant there was another who did... i remember when bush we reelected i had to live with it for the last four years and our economy crumbled and jobs were lost and sent out of the country by Mr. Romeny and others like him. I cant imagine voting for a man who single handedly got rid of 700 million american jobs and made 94 billion dollars for himself..

Florida is a disgrace--it's still counting votes--come on, the other 49 states managed to to that on election night.

FL is messed up because Gov Scott crammed a FEDERAL election full of STATE proposals. Depending on the county, the ballot was from 6-10 pages on both sides. Workers were trying to copy those ballots and some of them got messed up, not by eliminating candidates, but by limiting Prosposal 5. All those pages had to be counted by the machines and some pages got ruined and then workers had to .......by hand.......move all that information onto new ballots so they could by counted by machine again. And who takes the heat for this huge mess? The workers, of course. Not Scott who caused this mess to start with.

Look Obama has won, even if Romney were to take FL, he doesn't win. Game over! As Patricia, I am a woman, over 50, retired and switched parties from GOP to DEM after those 8 years of Bush, I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks! The election is OVER people. Patricia don't worry Obama won in other RED states, if he wins or loses in FL no problems. And illegals can vote? Since when? I am upset at your stupidity! Do you think that illegals who want to lay low and not get caught and get sent home are going to go to a polling station and say HELO I WANT VOTE? Illegals are not the problem is, the FL voting system, is the problem. And do you think that RED states wanted Obama to win? Even PA has voting machines that changed the votes to Romney. I guess that was ok huh? And Romney's son bought the voting machine company handling Ohio! Wake up and smell the coffee.

You obviosly did see the news about the USF professor, a very liberal democrat, who was turned away from his voting place of many years because he was no longer on their rolls. They claimed he had changed his address to Orlando. So it is not just republicans, many people, all over the country, have experienced these so-called glitches. History, however, has shown us that more voter fraud happens to registered democrats than republicans.

"Poll worker," not "pole worker" (unless you're referring to a utility worker who has to get high up on the pole with a basket machine). Sad, the ignorance displayed on Patch.

Blame this on Rick Scott and the Republican Legislators who shorten the number of early voting days, created nonsense amendments which created longer lines that kept the polls open longer. If you voted for Governor Hospital Bucks or Republican legislators that are not about doing the people's business, then remember this the next time you go into the polls. Otherwise, quit your bitchin because you only have yourselves to blame for electing inept self serving party idologues who could care less how Florida looks to the rest of the nation. They only care about their own agendas' and we should all flood their offices and voice our discontents.

I would bet there were more prayers sent Gods way in this election than any other issue in the world over the last year.
Assuming God hears all prayers and believing God does answer prayers, for many in this country the answer came back NO!
I would like to believe that God has granted us a chance for a do over, with hopes of not praying and conspiring for failure but to find a way that leads to success for all Americans, you knowand one nation under God . IF YOU BELIEVE, IN GOD WE TRUST, THEN TRUST IN GOD. I'm sure he has a hand in this for a reason. What's yours?

Florida is an embarasement when it comes to counting the vote, all the other states were able to do this on election night, but yet Florida is still counting. There is just no excuse for it at all.

Trying to make sense about what you're trying to convey here Ray. So God said NO to your side's prayers and said YES to the other sides prayers? Does this then mean God is a Democrat? The reason that your side did not prevail is because people saw through the devisive dirty tactics of suppressing the votes of minorities, the negative ad buys funded by the self serving wealthy individuals/corporations, your party's attemp to control and repress women and the tired old ideas as well as the radical new ideas of a party that has moved so far to the right they are fast approaching facism. Not to mention, a stellar ground game by the Obama election machine. Of course there are many reasons available why your side did not prevail, however, I seriously doubt that God cares either way in this matter, as that seems to be his/her position in response to many of man's trifling concerns. All I'm left to think is, thank god I didn't vote for you to fill the Commission Seat here in Safety Harbor.

California and New York get it.
Even the brain dead in Texas get it.
Rick Scott and his band of theives, hope you don't get it.
Rick, count the days you have left. The voters of Florida are going to ignore you, the same way the Mitt Romney campaign and the Republican party ignored you and your former business partner and former two term Republican President George Bush. When the morons on the right are embarrassed by you, IT IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed that the other Republicans try to stay at arm's length away from Scott--for good reason. The sooner Scott is gone, the better.
