Fashion Week of Tampa Bay is Here!
The official fashion week of the Tampa Bay Area kicks off tomorrow.
The fifth annual week dedicated to Tampa's sense of fashion kicks off tomorrow.
Fashion Week Tampa Bay is an event designed to showcase Tampa's unique style and fashion scene. Bringing fashion and accessory designers to the city to showcase their work for local, regional and national retailers, the event gives businesses, aspiring models and community members a chance to experience exceptional artistic energy and trendsetting style in their own city.
"We have increased our designer line-up this year, as well as partnered with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce to discuss the "Business of Fashion", the Glazer Children's Museum for "Kid Couture" and we will have a pop-up shop launch called, Karma: The Shops at Franklin," Fashion Week Tampa Bay founder Nancy Vaughn said. "Locals will be able to connect one-on-one with designers and other fashion industry professionals in the Tampa Bay area, plus they will learn about fashion talent, retail opportunities and more that exist in the fashion industry."
Ten designers will have runway shows this week at the main runway show event on Friday. Designers include: Ashton Anderson, House of Donshey, khendrix, LaPratto, Rhonda Shear, Essence Flowers, Audrey "Pat" McGhee, Spathose, Wicked Betty and Rogerio Martins.
Fashion Week Tampa Bay partners with charities as well. The 2012 beneficiary is Shoes for the Cure, an organization dedicated to recycling, keeping footwear out of landfills, and keeping the environment clean for future generations.
The schedule for fashion week is loaded with events in Ybor City and the downtown area, including a children's event tomorrow at the Glazer Children's Museum.
