Downtown Building Goes Blue For ‘Make May Moffitt Month’
The SunTrust Bank is lit up blue this month as Moffitt Cancer Center is partnering with businesses throughout Tampa Bay to offer special promotions and raise cancer awareness.
If you drive past the SunTrust Bank building in downtown Tampa on your way home from work, you might have noticed that the building has lit up blue.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn proclaimed this month Make May Moffitt Month on May 1. Throughout the month, Moffitt will partner with businesses and individuals in the Tampa Bay area to offer promotions and cancer education, according to a press release from Moffitt. The SunTrust building, for example, will shine blue today, and then again May 6-8.
“We are honored to participate with Moffitt during this week,” said Terri-Lynn Mitchell, the district manager of Property Management at Stiles Property Management, in the release. The company also lit the building to honor Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and to recognize ovarian cancer research efforts at Moffitt.
