Dock to Be Built in Garrison Channel

Boaters will have easy access to the Tampa Bay History Center, the Columbia Cafe and other downtown attractions once construction of the dock is completed, TBO.com reports.

Boaters will soon have a new place to anchor their vessels and visit the Riverwalk, as Tampa has received a state grant to build a dock in the Garrison Channel, TBO.com reports.

The grant from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will fund 70 percent of the $438,000 needed to build the dock with slips for eight recreational boats and one water taxi near the Tampa Bay History Center, while another $40,000 for the project comes from private funding from Friends of the Riverwalk, according to TBO.com.

Boaters will have easy access to the history museum, the Columbia Cafe and other downtown attractions.

Construction of the dock is expected to start in February or March and will be completed within six month, TBO.com reports.
