Cru Cellars Debuts New Food Menu with a Party Tonight

The South Tampa wine shop and bar now offers a new menu of freshly prepared small plates.

Palma Ceia boutique wine shop and bar will debut its new food menu during a kickoff party featuring wine specials and live music from 6 p.m to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.

partnered up with chefs Hope Montgomery and Jason Ruhe of In Bloom Catering to expand the menu from cheese and charcuterie to savory small dishes freshly prepared and created to pair with selected wines.

The new menu includes a roasted beet, goat cheese and arugula salad; a house-cured salmon and deviled eggs platter; and a roasted bone marrow with roasted garlic dish.

“In Bloom has been preparing amazing dishes for our special events and private parties since we opened,” said Cru Cellars owner and certified sommelier Jen Bingham. “We knew Hope and Jason could help us come up with a new menu great for sharing and trying new things that also complements the wine.”

Montgomery and Ruhe have been in business together for more than seven years and are passionate about the farm-to-table movement — cooking with as many local organic ingredients as possible.

“We believe our partnership with Cru Cellars has been amazingly positive because we all have a true passion for what we do,” said Montgomery. “We sincerely care about delivering a quality experience to those we serve."

And for the cheese lovers, Cru Cellars has expanded its menu to include a mix-and-match of cheeses, cured meats and small bites platter.

The new menu will be prepared in house by a newly hired chef, Josh Burton, who formerly worked at in Hyde Park Village.

At tonight's menu kickoff party at 2506 S. MacDill Ave., every customer will receive half off the first glass of wine with the purchase of any of the new menu items and $3 off additional glasses.
