If you haven’t been to Bayshore Market yet, you are missing out.

Paul Schobben and Linda Schobben opened the specialty shop in Ballast Point in late October 2011, in a tiny space that housed various businesses and ventures throughout the years, such as a garden shop, a produce market and even a gas station.

This charming neighborhood store at the corner of Bayshore Boulevard and Interbay Boulevard offers a vast range of items, from a fresh produce section with both traditional and organic choices of vegetables, fruits and herbs to foods produced by local companies.

“We like to stay with locally produced and organic products,” said Paul.

The Hyde Park couple once owned a garden center in Largo and Bayshore Market also sells plants and flowers, such as the orchids that Paul grows himself.

“This new adventure has been great,” he said, “the community has been very supportive and we already have regulars who shop here.”

Folks can buy Linda’s specialty, the handcrafted olive salad So Good!, as well as the popular Mike’s Pies.

And there are the locally produced dips from Sunset Salsa, fresh pasta from the Ravioli Co., sweets from Toffee to Go, jams from Cannon’s Country Gourmet and honey from Eden’s Nectar.

Also, cheeses, extra virgin olive oils, ice cream, eggs, cookies, and much more, even handmade soap.

“A bit of everything,” said Paul.

Bayshore Market is located at 5025 Bayshore Blvd. The shop is open 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
