ABC Action News reports that Michael Agana, the 19-year-old who crashed off Bayshore Boulevard into the Hillsborough Bay on Friday, May 11, was taken off life support at Tampa General Hospital Tuesday night, May 15.

“Doctors determined he could not overcome the injuries he sustained when his car crashed into the water off Bayshore last week,” the local TV station reports.

The family has asked for privacy, according to a Tampa Police Department press release.

“At this point, our investigation is still ongoing and we do not expect any further developments within the coming days,” the release said.

Agana was a Plant High School graduate and a University of South Florida student.
