5 Things To Know Today

Here is Monday's roundup of events and information.

1. Experience a live flamenco dance show at the Columbia in Ybor City. The Columbia Restaurant Dance Troupe, led by Artistic Director Maria Sevilla, performs two 45-minute shows Monday through Saturday, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Feel the fire of flamenco while enjoying a meal, or pay $6 for just the show. The Columbia is at 2025 E. Seventh Ave.

2. The Hillsborough County Commission will hold a public hearing on the adoption of the final selection of redistricting maps.  The 6 p.m. meeting will be held in the second floor Boardroom of County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa. 

 3. Converse in Spanish at Spanish Night, held at the John F. Germany Public Library, 900 N. Ashley Dr. It's informal conversation at an intermediate to advanced level. Spanish will be spoken from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Carmen Manis Room.

4. The three-dimensional fantasy sculptures of artist Tim Gibbons and his students are on display at Bank of America Plaza, 101 E. Kennedy Blvd. Gibbons, an accomplished artist and teacher, conducts studio classes at the Hyde Park Art Studio, located at 702 Albany Ave. His students range from elementary school students through adults. The sculptures at Bank of America Plaza are based on each student’s favorite fairy tale. Sculpture on view from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For information, call 813-221-7489.
