Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride one of the yellow TECO Line streetcars running throughout Ybor City, Downtown Tampa and the Channel District?
Take a ride for only 25 cents from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 10. Don't forget your quarters, as the motormen are not able to provide change.
The Streetcar Holiday Connections promises lots of fun activities, live music and entertainment along the route.
Centennial Park will host the weekly Ybor City Saturday Market along with Art in the Park featuring artists from around the country.
Santa will arrive in Ybor City in the morning, and folks will have the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour at Stageworks Theatre in the Channel District.
Also, special offers and discounts will be available at shops and restaurants located along the streetcar line, including $5 off at the Florida Aquarium, free admission for a child with the purchase of an adult admission at Glazer Children's Museum, and $2 off general admission at the Tampa Bay History Center.
Some special offers require presenting a Streetcar Holiday Connections brochure, which can be downloaded and printed at tecolinestreetcar.org and will also be available at all streetcar stations on Saturday.
Remember to visit the streetcar information table at Centro Ybor to receive tickets for a free kids' meal at Gametime while supplies last.
The TECO Line Streetcar System serves four major parking garages: Centro Ybor Parking Garage, Noriega Parking Garage, Port Authority Garage, and South Regional Parking Garage. One-way cash fare is $2.50. Discounted fares and daily, weekly and monthly passes are also available.
